Yesterday was Kaden Caldarera’s last shift with us. He finished his degree and is leaving the scholarship program for the wilds of Wisconsin. We wish him the very best in his next endeavor, he will be missed
The Steese Volunteer Fire Department is going to be driving through our neighborhoods to bring some holiday cheer. Please come out to the end of your driveway to wave at Santa, see the fire trucks and get a candy cane. Maps of the routes will be posted soon. Please spread the word, Santa is coming to town!
We would like to thank Mathew MacCarter and Domenic Monzingo who built a door prop for our department. Both are instructors for the local 375 plumbers and pipe fitters apprenticeship program. All of the materials were donated from C&R pipe out of kindness. This door prop allows us to to train new recruits and senior members on making forcible entry into a structure during a emergency such as a structure fire. Having this prop allows us as firefighters to have mastery in this area and allow for faster operations on the fire ground. Many hours have already been spent on this prop and many lessons have been learned through using it.
We are also excited to announce the advancement of one of our scholarship firefighters to a full-time paid position Carlos Hernandez has joined A-shift as a Firefighter/EMT. Congratulations Carlos.
SVFD is proud to announce our newest full-time staff member Evan Sterling. Evan came to us from Ester Volunteer Fire Department and he will be joining B-shift.
