In between calls, C shift members spent this last 48-hour shift training on many situations including vertical ventilation and car fires. C shift has two new recruits, so it’s a great time to get them prepared for all the different emergencies they may be responding to in the near future, as well as keeping our other members skills sharpened! Steese Volunteer Fire Department is always ready to serve our community!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the local fire departments are working with the Breast Cancer Detection Center (BCDC) of Fairbanks to raise money for this cause. They have designed t-shirts from each department and will have them available to be ordered by department members as well as the public. Follow this link northstarfire-bcashirts.itemorder.com/shop/sale/ to order a shirt from any of the participating Fire Departments. The cost is $20 for standard sizes and an extra cost for larger sizes. Any profit from the shirt sales will be donated to BCDC. The last day to order shirts is September 1st. The company will handle all monetary transactions and ship the shirts to your front door. ... See MoreSee Less
