The Steese Volunteer Fire Department Ride-along Program provides students interested in the fire service the opportunity to ride as a guest on SVFD apparatus. Students interested in participating in this program must be at least 16 years old, with the approval of a parent or guardian.
Age Group: 16+ years old, with the approval of a parent or guardian at the time of participation. Please provide a copy of your ID in addition to the ride-along packet (see below for forms).
Time: Up to 12 hours, with a limited window between 0800 and 2000 hours. (The duration of the ride-along is subject to change according to the Company Officer sponsoring the student visit.)
Cost: Free
Procedure:
- 18 and over: Submit a Ride-along request. Make sure to have digital copies of a government issued ID.
- Under 18 (but over 16): Submit a Minor Ride-along request. Make sure to have digital copies of a government issued ID for both the Parent/Legal Guardian and the Participant.
If guests and students are under the age of 18, it is mandatory to complete the Minor Fire Department Ride-along form.
Please ensure that you initiate your ride-along 14 days prior to the requested ride-along dates.
To accommodate possible schedule conflicts, please provide at least one alternative date on which you are available to participate in the Ride-along.
